The highly anticipated new title from the authors of Fender: The Golden Age 1946-1970.
Rickenbacker: out of the frying pan into the fireglo by Martin and Paul Kelly is THE definitive history of The Rickenbacker guitar company.

With unrivalled access to the company’s historical archives and featuring a beautifully photographed survey of over 300 original instruments from the company’s golden era, this book will do for our understanding of Rickenbacker’s remarkable contribution to music what The Golden Age did for Fender.

Martin and Paul have gathered together an unprecedented collection of Rickenbacker guitars, basses, lap steels and amplifiers made between 1931-1999. These include some of the most iconic artist owned instruments, including all 7 surviving Beatle guitars, Roger McGuinn’s original twelve string as well as instruments from the Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and Tom Petty collections.

Over 336 pages the book charts the company’s history from George Beauchamp’s invention of the electric guitar in 1931, through the 1960s up to the birth of John Hall’s modern Rickenbacker company during the ‘80s and ‘90s.

The book is due to ship in November 2021
